We will not move on to Unit 4. Our scores on the Unit 3 Test were disappointing, so I have decided that we will go over that Unit again. Please help your student with the differences between factors and multiples.
Multiples (Least Common Multiple- LCM) are when you multiply numbers by 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.
Multiples of 4-
4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32, 36, 40, 44, 48 etc.
Factors (Greatest Common Factors- GCF) are the numbers when multiplied will equal a certain number
Factors of 18:
1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 18
1 X 18 =18
2 X 9 = 18
3 X 6 = 18
Part of their problem is they are not secure in knowing their multiplication facts. Please practice these facts with them.
